Rethink Afghanistan.
“Rethink Afghanistan is being shaped both as a film and a campaign at the same time. By producing his film-and-activism campaign at an accelerated pace on the Internet, Mr. Greenwald is capitalizing on new technology that allows filmmakers to produce their work more swiftly.”
- Brian Stelter, New York Times
ABOUT RETHINK AFGHANISTAN
On the eve of the eighth anniversary of the war in Afghanistan, the United States prepares for yet another likely troop surge in what is rapidly becoming the longest war America has been involved in. Robert Greenwald’s new feature questions America’s continued military engagement in Afghanistan.
From the director of Outfoxed, Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price, and Iraq for Sale, this ground-breaking documentary shatters all perceived truths behind the war in Afghanistan, daring to ask the questions Washington has been avoiding.
Launched in January 2009 as a “real-time” documentary, Rethink Afghanistan features interviews with veterans, Afghan civilians, Afghan women’s groups, former CIA operatives, journalists, and policy experts, giving voice to the people and issues not being heard.
Be a part of the discussion and let YOUR voice be heard!
Hello again Burbank Film Subscribers,
We are so excited to be holding a new movie screening at Verdugo park THIS SATURDAY at 1pm!! We have prided ourselves on showing films over our 5 year history which have been timely examinations of the political issues we all face - and this film is no exception.
As Afghanistan creeps back into the public discourse and media talking points, we are reminded of a lesson American leaders have a tough time learning: Nation building is not our strong suit! Please come out and join us for an eye-opening look into the 8-year-long war in Afghanistan and stick around for a lively discussion afterwards where we'll see what we might be able to do to end the war and return civility and sanity to our foreign policy.
We hope to see you there! Bring a friend, please.
