                                                                   Agenda

Hotep ! This is our genda for Tues August 19, 2008. Freedom Now is in the midst of a summer membership drive so we will have our regular format with 3 pitrch request during the program for you the ” true believers” to become a member of the KPFK family. Brotha Mateff will do a call out of existing political prisoners during our raising the bars political prisoner segment.

Brotha Kumasi a OG who together with comrade George Jackson built the revolutionary prisoner movement in the California  prison system will provide the history of Black August, 1) its relevance today 2) the impact of this movement on the civil rights , Black Power and the Pan African movements and  4) the role of inmates and ex-convicts in the liberation struggle today.

Following Tim Green a independent film maker will give an overview of his new childrens film “Lil Homies”.  Dedon will provide the African Drum beat historical calendar.

Our keynote presentation will be John Parker and Dedon discussing the  “Free Tibet movement “ and the Dali Lama. Freedom Now takes the position that the Free Tibet Movement and related groups such as the Tibet Fund and the International Campaign to Free Tibet are part of a 53 year campaign by the Central Intelligence Agency and its National Endowment For Democracy to destabilized Communist China and revert Tibet to its feudal past. Clearly we are fighting the dominant point of view here  at KPFK, within the Hollywood entertainment industry, the Democratic and Republican parties and the liberal and progressive community.  Though many have good intentions we believe that they have been bambozzled like many regarding Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanstan, Zimbawee and the Sudan.  Our special guest is John Parker representeing the International Action Committee.

As is our tradition our music mix will include:Zap Mama-Sony Oksum-Barbara Lewis-Lava Lava-Towering Inferno Dub, the Impressions, Ras Brown and Rahman.

So As always we stand ready for the Revolution.
