 Freedom Now will host the world Pan African traveler, researcher and historican Runoko Rashidi on the world African Presence and a discussion on Obama. We will have our political prisoner segement with Mateef and the African Drum beat historical calendar.

Runoko Rashidi is a late-20th c. historian, researcher, writer, world traveler, and public lecturer . Runoko Rashidi focuses on the African presence globally and the African foundations of world civilizations. He is particularly drawn to the African presence in Asia, Australia, and the Pacific Islands, and has coordinated historic educational group tours to India, Aboriginal Australia, the Fiji Islands and Southeast Asia as well as Egypt and Brazil. His academic focus is in "the Black foundations of world civilizations". He has conducted research into the Black presence in Asia.

Hotep this is Sista Zionne with Freedom Now agenda for this Tues January 20, 2009. We are blessed to have as our central theme the African presence in the Diaspora since antiquity. Dr. Runoko Rashdi, the world traveler has spent most of his life on the road seeking out  & researching the African presence in remote area’s of  Vietnam, Cambodia, China, the Pacific Islands, Turkey, Jordan,  the list is long. Tonight we will be discussing not only the global presence of Africans but their view on the Obama ascendancy as the Democratic Party’s  - President of the United States.

 Following we will have an update on the crisis in occupied Gaza with the Green Party presidential candidate and former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney. Ms McKinney a Freedom Now regular has just returned today,  from the Middle- east.. She will provide an  update on Zionist Israel defeat in there efforts to destroy Hamas and stop the Palestinian resistance in  Gaza.

  Dedon will present the African Drum Beat Historical calendar of progressive and revolutionary struggles and personalities from bygone eras .

   Our music mix will include: Ester Sattersfield, Dub Movement, Quincy Jones,Zap Mama, the Bassment,  and the Paraliaments.
