Freedom Now’s agenda for this Tues April 7 will focus on Religion and Revolution as Acts of Culture and their usage as Weapons For Liberation.
It has been said by great African leaders that “True believers in God and or the people seek to build and develop societies where there is no oppression and exploitation of one human being over another”. We will have a discussion with call in on this topic with Mateef Hamarchais a decades old Pan Africanize Revolutionary , family man, teacher and a strong Christian. The usage of religion by the right wing forces in the US the religion by the Palestinans and Iraqs and in Central America indicates that religion has been used as a weapon of liberation as well as a weapon of oppression. So tonight we will begin a series to critically look at religion and social change.
Dedon will present the African Drum Beat Historical Calendar. Following Brotha Harold giving us the film itenary on the up coming African Liberation Film Festival this weekend with a focus on Zimbabwe films.
We will continue with Brotha Obeng from the Solidary Movement for a New Ethiopia.Brotha Obeng whose is an Annuk which is one of the many kingdoms of the Empire of Ethiopia .. Broth Obeng will provide us with an update on the continued political crisis in Ethiopia and the development “of the Solidarity Movement for a New Ethiopia.
We will set aside the last 30 minutes for the presentation on religion and revolution and your telephone call in on this critical topic.
