Alafia ! This is Sista Arisa with Freedom Now agenda for this Tues July 7.  We will commence with Mateef providing an update on the Israeli defense forces hijacking ,  kidnapping and  jailing of former Georgia Congresswoman and Green Party Presidential Candidate Cynthia McKinney.       We will follow with Dedon and the African Drum beat historical calendar. Sista Nana from the Mothers for Africa will provide an update on the upcoming demonstration against CNN for their white out of the atrocities being committed against the women and children of the Congo.

Our central theme will be paying homage to and keeping alive the memory of Brotha Kwame Ture formerly Stokely Carmichael who was born on June 29, 1941. Brotha Grasshopper, Dedon  and Bob Brown will provide us with commentaries and a biographical sketch with clips of Kwame. Brotha Kwame evolution from a civil rights activist to a Black Power leader to a Pan Africanist and Internationalist embodied the best social activism of this period.   Our music mix to provide flavor tonight  will include: Zap Mama, Ishmael Reed Conjure, Litton Kwesi Johnson, Farka Ture, Tambu, Revolutionaires, Viva Fidel , Brand Nubian and the Last Poets.

We have a full agenda tonight so tell a friend and remember you can replay tonight’s broadcast or any prior shows by going to KPFK.org, audio archives and scroll to Freedom Now to see our prior shows posted. So stay tune and as always, we stand ready for the revolution.
