                                                                        Agenda

Alafia this is Sista Arisa with Freedom Now’s agenda for this January 5,2010.  Tonight we will bring to life thru his speeches our Brother Kwame Ture formely Stokely Carmichael. More importantly he will present a world view that reflects  truly an alternative to the Obama cool aide. Kwame Ture for his whole life, as with Malcolm X a generation earlier, represented the embodiement of our principle struggle for liberation. Brother Kwame was  raised, trained, educated and steeled in our  people’s struggle in the Caribbean  later in the US and permanently in Africa.

Kwame Ture and the organizational transitions that he made reflected the evolution of Black Liberation from Civil Rights to Black Power to Pan Africanism with an emphasis on socialism. Google Kwame Ture for a more extensive overview. We will play a  speech he gave at El Camino college address consciusness and organization. He provides a vision that can guide us in 2010 that is more principled and relevant today rather than Obamas;s  “Hope and Change” rhetoric.

Dedon  will provide the African Drum Beat Historical Calendar.Comrade Age will update us on the protest arournd the Oscar Grant murder trial in Los Angeles. Our music mix will include:Zap Mama , Black Uhuru Dub, Ali Farka Ture and ,Immortal Techniques.

So as they say in Trinidad “The Rougher the water the stronger the swimmer” so stay tune for a rough intellectual session with Kwame Ture and as he always says Ready for the Revolution.
