Agenda

Hotep this is Dedon Kamathi  with Freedom Nows agenda for this Tues March 30,2010. Tonight our central theme is Rasta, Reggae and Resistance with 2 leading Rasta elders Ras Michael from Ras Michael and the Sons of Negus and Brotha Jai Jai. All too often Reggae as with Rap, the Jazz, the Blues specifically  and all music of the oppress generally is castrated by the corporate music and media  elites. Of course their objective is to maintain power hence they must eliminate any forms of resistance. So tonight we will talk about Reggae  & Rastafarianism as cultural  weapons of liberation.

Brotha Mateef will present the  Raising the Bars segment addressing a interesting new development in the prison Industrial complex.. Dedon will provide the African Drum beat historical calendar followed by Brotha Taco with a update on the Anti-Nazi mobilization here in LA.

Our music mix will include: Zap Mama,  Bonodo, Rastafarian Dub, Ras Michael, Planet Asia, Curtis Mayfield., Sambasa

So be prepared for another Pan African journey into the struggle of African people here at Freedom Now. As always we stand ready for the revolution.

Anti-Nazi Rally: April 17 10 am Downtown LA City Hall.
