Hotep ! This is Freedom Now’s agenda for this Tues August 10, 2010. I will present the African Drum Historical calendar to refute this notion that we the people are the passive recipients of ruling class ideology and actions. Sista Nana will present a poem by political prisoner Zakyid Shakur as a tribute to the incarcerated throughout the prison industrial complex for this Black August.
We will follow with Pierre Lavoiser of the Haitian Action Center and Marguerite Laurent from the Ezilanto Danto journal with an update on Haiti as well as a discussion on Wycleff Jean recent announcement that he running for President of Haiti. We will close out with Brotha Harold Green who will provide a geo-historical overview of the anti-colonial struggle of African People in Papua new guinea. Just a note we will be having Pan African Beach Day August 15 from 1-10 pm and the 3rd Sunday of every month at Dockweiler Beach at the end of Imperial Blvd in Playa Del Rey. We will be giving updates. It is free and we will teaching surfing, caporea, African drumming. In this depression we are seeking for African people to retake public spaces such as the beaches, mountains, dessert .
