Alafia  ! This is Dedon Kamathi with Freedom Now agenda for this February 26,2011. Of course KPFK is in the midst of a fund drive hence Freedom Now will make our contribution but always from a revolutionary perspective. Hence we will have our African drum beat historical  calendar and 3 themes consistent with our mission.

   Bro Yaw Davis will give an brief overview  of his recent dvd, 3000 years of Ethiopian history. This history demonstrates Ethiopia’s central role in the development of human beings, human civilization,christianity and successful anti-colonialism struggle, just to mention a few of Ethiopia’s First.

  We will follow with the Pan African film festival favorite  documentary- Cointel Pro 101 with progressive attorney James Simmons providing a context for this illegal u.s. government assault against the civil rights and human rights of  the Europena left, Black Power, Brown Power and Red Power movements. We will close out with another Pan African film festival favorite Operation Small Axe.The history of the Oscar Grant rebellion movement, an excellent documentary on the role of students and youth in challenging the racist police at a time when everyone has written off the youth as hedonist. Our music mix will include: Zap Mama, Goode Mob,Surgar Minot, Ben Benham, Preservao Camato, Beenda Weeda.
