   Hotep this is Dedon Kamathi with an extended 2 hour fund drive edition of Freedom Now for this Saturday May 21, 2011. We will from 5-7 pm provide you a revolutionary personal technique a mediation to beat back the stresses of this United States of America the richest and simultaneous the most stressful society in the world. We commence this evening’s program with the Congolese film Director Bjo Munga whose film Viva Riva recent previewed at the Pan African film Festival and now is on national tour. Brother Auyku Babu the Director of the festival will be our co-host for this segment. Our central theme, which for me personally is one of the most powerful weapons in my personal arsenal of survival tactics in this capitalist, racist chauvinist United States, is Mediation. We have as our co-host George Quant the godfather of mediation originally in the African world starting right here in Los Angeles but have expanded to other national groupings. This not a typical premium pitched at Freedom Now. Historically we promote DVD’s,CD,Books  that are political and cultural. I decided in the wake of my Mothers death which put in the forefront of my mind own mortality to try to spread to a broad audiences some of the survival tactics that I have used for over 43 years. It has not been easy to maintain sanity in an insane country when you choose to challenge uncompromisingly  racism, class exploitation and sexism which I have done militantly for 43 years. My present optimism, my enthusiasm, my love of my people, my love of life is not a result of racist America but rather the result of people and practices that have armed me with a shield, a protector  not get so stress out that I resort to gangsterism, drug ,alcohol addition, pessimism, anti –social behavior. Being one of those people who wallow in what they did in the 60ties but aint doing nothing today.

   Our central theme is mediation and its transformation impact on our lives. We will hear personal testimonials from Africans who are practioners from the sixties to today.

   Yes I said Mediation. I typically donor advance any form of neither spirituality nor transcendial beliefs .

Yes Freedom  Now has provided forums for most of the world major religions as well as for those who are anti-religions such as Kwadoo Obeng but I have been  an active mediator since 1972 when I was introduce to Transdential Mediation by George Quant our special co-host. Mediation is not a religion or a spiritual belief but a scientifically verify method for health. We will have as special Guest tonight Ayku Babu of the Pan African film festival, Alitash Kebe from Ethiopia a major African Art dealer and collector, Sister Lillie from Eritrea who through KPFK was introduce to mediation, Kamau Daoud the griot wordsmith of Los Angeles, and others including myself .
