The group will present five works for twelve percussionists creating an unprecedented variety of percussion sounds. Preceding the concert will be a 7:15pm pre-concert talk to help the audience gain access to the 100+ instruments on stage.  Under the direction of distinguished UCSD faculty Steven Schick, the group will perform works by Liza Lim (Australia), Yann Robin, Philippe Shoeller, Yan Maresz (France), and Johannes Fischer (Germany). After the concert, the audience will have the opportunity to examine the instruments for themselves in an "instrument petting zoo."

The concert will highlight the work of Hauser. Schick and Hauser will perform new works and semi-improvised sound-scapes with the 12 percussionists of EnsembleXII in Sushi's intimate theatre setting  in downtown San Diego near Petco Park.  Preceding the concert will be a 7:15pm pre-concert talk to help the audience gain access to the 100+ instruments on stage. After the concert, the audience will have the opportunity to examine the instruments for themselves in an "instrument petting zoo."
