Giving Thanks - an expression of gratitude for all our moments Cultural, historical, religious and aesthetic influences converge when 45 artists work together for the first time. The results are a dramatic journey representing different lives, memories and legends of three sacred traditions from INDIA, HAWAII & BRAZIL.
From the magnificent beauty and vibrancy of Bharata Natyam, Shakti Dance Company from the temples of southern India to the graceful movement and chant from Hawaii, Halau Keali'i O Nalani, and the infectious rhythms of Afro-Brazilian dance and carnival, Viver Brasil, the shared spirit and intense energy of these dancers and musicians gathered on one stage represent the legacy of their traditions and the vitality of our city-Los Angeles.

MUAMBA DEC. 3RD. AT FAIS DO=DO
Legendary club FAIS DO-DO opens it’s doors once again to the Brazilian community, with the debut of classic Brazilian funk from the 70's,
never before heard in LA. This rare treat is a true MUAMBA (an imported product), brought from Brazil and adapted to the
American palate. In the 1970’s, Tim Maia, the father of samba-funk, began a revolution when he brought American funk to Brazil. Now Antonio
Santanna, former bassist for Tim Maia, brings the mash-up sound back to the states with a stellar lineup of some of LA's premier go-to Brazilian players, including singer Carla Hassett (former Billy Idol singer/dancer), drummer Leo Costa (Elan), guitarist Roberto Monteiro, keyboardist Catina DeLuna, and percussionist Gibí (Sergio Mendes).
