GAZA: ANOTHER WAR ANOTHER TRAGEDY
It was a close call. The Israelis were ready for another massacre of the Gazans: the tanks were ready and already hitting Palestinian homes and Palestinian economic and political infrastructure; the Iron Dome, Israel’s military system for intercepting rockets, was having great success preempting rockets from reaching their targets in cities; the Israeli public, and by a large majority was behind the military ground intervention; and Israeli Benjamin Netanyahu… well, Bibi was himself, Bibi was Biby.
Why was the war averted? Was Netanyahu sincere in his agreement to lift the blockade against Gaza? Will this agreement help resolve the conflict between Hamas and Fatah? How did the media in the SWANA region report this latest Israeli adventure? What is the future of Gaza?
