Peace!! My name is Abraham Beltran, and I am the host of Soundwaves, coming to you live and direct every Saturday night/Sunday morning from midnight-2am on 90.7FM KPFK (streaming and podcasting on www.kpfk.org). Every week I’ll be showcasing individual artists and groups whose primary means of promotion and exposure are the internet. This show is all about giving props and shine to these sounds that are bubbling up on the underground and don’t really have major distribution or mainstream exposure for one reason or another. I’m constantly searching the internet for new acts, seasoned acts, and pretty much any groups/artists that are doing it to death but are still beneath the radar. It’s on THIS SHOW that I hope to keep that internet buzz going and really create a sense of community among these artists and their mutual desire to gain visibility via non-traditional, non-major-label means.
