L.A. Theatre Works’ Radio Theatre Series will air Look Back in Anger, written by John Osborne, directed by Rosalind Ayres, and featuring Joanne Whalley, Simon Templeman and Steven Brand. The broadcast can be heard locally in Southern California on Sunday, July 22 from 8 -10 pm on KPFK 90.7 FM in Los Angeles (98.7 FM in Santa Barbara, 99.5 FM in Ridgecrest/China Lake and 93.7 FM in Rancho Bernardo/North San Diego), and can also be streamed on demand at www.latw.org.

Jimmy Porter is a confrontational young man who wants to incite strong feelings from others at any cost. As he relentlessly harangues his beleaguered wife and best mate, the three orbit one another in a dance of intimacy, hope and doubt. John Osborne’s play is a classic portrait of the dreams and the disillusionment of Londoners in the mid-1950s. The broadcast includes a conversation with Dan Rebellato, author of “1956 and All That: The Making of Modern British Drama.”
