L.A. Theatre Works On the Air:

Lindsay Crouse, Julie Harris, JoBeth Williams star inMrs. Klein

L.A. Theatre Works’ Radio Theatre Series will air Mrs. Klein, written by Nicholas Wright, directed by Robert Robinson and featuring Lindsay Crouse, Julie Harris and JoBeth Williams. The broadcast can be heard locally in Southern California on Sunday, March 17 from 8 -10 pm on KPFK 90.7 FM in Los Angeles (98.7 FM in Santa Barbara, 99.5 FM in Ridgecrest/China Lake and 93.7 FM in Rancho Bernardo/North San Diego), and can also be streamed on demand at www.latw.org.

The air is thick with Freud and sex as eminent psychoanalyst Melanie Klein comes roaring to life in a 1930’s drawing room. The city of London offers the witty, overbearing Mrs. Klein refuge from rising European fascism. But perhaps her children are still in need of refuge – from her. The show includes an interview with Kleinian psychologist Dr. Chris Minnick of the University of Southern California.

This play is part of L.A. Theatre Works’ Relativity Series featuring science-themed plays. Major funding for the Relativity Series is provided by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, to enhance public understanding of science and technology in the modern world.
