Bob Avakian on Michael Slate Show, Part 5, Raymond Lotta on NDAA

E-mail Print PDF

Bob Avakian, Chairman of the Revolutionary Communist Party, interviewed by Michael Slate, Part 5, the conclusion of a five-part interview.

We come into this part off of a question that was posed in the previous segment: Do people have to be angels in order for such a revolution and socialist society to be realized? Avakian answers "No." Digging into this, he paints a picture of what his new synthesis of communism would look like in socialist society. And he talks about what it is that keeps him on the revolutionary road.

Parts 1, 2, 3, and 4 are available in the KPFK archives, or at revcom.us

We'll talk with Raymond Lotta about the Obama administration seeking to bolt unprecedentedly repressive measures into place - and the need for outcry and resistance. A critical focus is the battle against the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Lotta will also talk about the politically and morally unconscionable and unacceptable decision by journalist Chris Hedges and his legal team to make a dangerous mischaracterization of the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA and its Chairman, Bob Avakian, a pivot point in a lawsuit against the NDAA.

Lotta is a writer for Revolution newspaper and advocate for Bob Avakian's new synthesis of communism. He is an initiator of the Call to Stand Together to Resist the Obama Administration's Assault on Fundamental Rights (published in the November 5 issue of The Nation).

Raymond Lotta will be speaking via webcast at Revolution Books in Los Angeles, Sunday, Feb. 10th, 1 pm (please arrive at 12:30 pm).  If you can't join the bookstore screening and discussion, you can watch the web cast live at www.justin.tv/cclarkk.  Questions to the speaker may be submitted before or during the program via e-mail addressed to revbooksnyc@yahoo.com.
