Judi Bari was a union organizer who came to California in the 1980s and got involved with the struggle to end the clearcutting of redwoods.
In 1990, a pipe bomb blew up in a car she was driving. At first, police charged her with transporting explosives, but they never pressed charges. An investigation to establish who did try and kill Judi Bari was never conducted.
Now, Bari, the work of EarthFirst! and the conduct of law enforcement after the bombing are the subject of a new documentary, Who Bombed Judi Bari? It will be playing tomorrow and Wednesday at the Laemmle Santa Monica at 7:30 pm.
Our guests are film director and editor Mary Liz Thomson and producer Darryl Cherney who was in Bari's car the day the bomb went off.
