On Tuesday May 24th KPFK celebrated the 70th birthday of American songwriting legend, political activist and pop music icon Bob Dylan. KPFK's Jon Wiener, Alan Minsky and Maggie LePique will be featuring exclusive fund drive programming and special Bob Dylan premiums including "No Direction Home" 2 DVD set, newly released "Live at Brandeis" University CD, "Dylan Speaks" The Legendary 1965 Press Conference in San Francisco, Special exclusive Dylan interview CD by Jon Wiener including cultual critics and authors Griel Marcus, Sean Wilentz and many others. Featuring Sean Wilentz, author of Dylan in America; Bob Dylan rarities — interviews on WBAI in NYC from the early sixties; highlights of ten years of interviews about Dylan on KPFK with Greil Marcus, Sean Wilentz, and others; highlights from “No Direction Home”, Martin Scorsese’s documentary on Dylan from his arrival in New York in 1961 to his “retirement” following his motorcycle accident in 1966.
