John Lithgow earned a Tony Award for his performance in the original Broadway production as the American journalist, once a well known figure in Washington politics, once an influential insider, but now seeing his relevance fade. Set between 1954-68, Joseph Alsop also worked at a covert operative for the CIA. Despite his Republican affiliation, he supported John F. Kennedy, becoming a close friend and advisor.
Recorded before a live audience at the UCLA James Bridges Theater in November 2013.
