The beloved novel for children of all ages was adapted to film initially in 1918, but that film is believe to be lost. In 1949 it was made into a film starring Margaret O'Brien, with additional film versions again in 1993, 2017, and 2020. There have also been several stage versions, including a recent, much acclaimed musical version.
