13th Annual Leimert Park Village Book Fair
More Information (KPFK 90.7 FM is not responsible for external websites)
The Leimert Park Village Book Fair is happy to announce that it has tapped world-class athlete, fitness and wellness advocate, TV personality and home chef, Laila Ali as its 2019 book fair ambassador. She will be headlining the culinary stage with recipes from her new cookbook, “Food for Life.” Laila currently is the host of Emmy Award-winning show, “Home Made Simple,” which airs every Saturday on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).
As you may know, Laila is the daughter of the late, beloved global icon and humanitarian, Muhammad Ali. Following in her father’s footsteps, she is also a four-time, undefeated boxing world champion, whose stellar record includes 24 wins -- that is, 21 of which were “knockouts” -- and zero losses. Laila is heralded as the most successful female in the history of women’s boxing.
Laila will be featured on the Book Fair’s Cooking Stage where she will be demonstrating several of her recipes from her newly released book entitled, “Food for Life: Delicious and Healthy Comfort Food From My Table to Yours.” And as a special treat to Leimert Park Village Book Fair attendees, Laila will unveil her new seasoning line. The 13th Annual Leimert Park Village Book Fair will take place on Saturday, August 24, 2019 (10:00 am – 5:00 pm) at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza.
