Canto sin Fronteras was created by Tanya Mayahuel Torres in 1995 in order to fulfill the great need for a radio forum where the progressive Latin-American and world audience could be represented in Southern California. The program is dedicated to the diffusion of Latin American folk, trova, nuevo canto, and World music with social-political themes not allowed on other radio stations.
For the last 23 years Canto Sin Fronteras continues to be a unique program that provides a forum for world known song writers and singers that acknowledges the history, culture and currents social matters affecting Latin Americans and people from around the world living in the in the United States.
Canto sin Fronteras has always emphasized history, culture and current social topics through music while outreaching the community through different cultural activities such as art expositions, concerts and forums.
Through music Canto Sin Fronteras has united, empowered, and given voice to those that are often misrepresented in the world with the hope to achieve peace in the world through the understanding of diverse cultures. We are One!

Canto sin Fronteras fue concebido por Tanya Mayahuel Torres en 1995 para llenar la gran necesidad de un foro radial en el cual la audiencia latinoamericana progresista pudiera ser representada. El programa está dedicado a la difusión del folklore latinoamericano, el nuevo canto, la trova, y la música del Mundo con contenido social no permitido en otras emisoras. Este programa se transmite todos los sábados de 6-8 PM en KPFK 90.7 FM en Los Ángeles, 98.7 FM Santa Bárbara, 93.7 FM San Diego, 99.5 FM Ridgecrest/China Lake y a través del mundo en www.kpfk.org

Canto Sin Fronteras además de ser un programa de radial, se ha preocupado en rescatar las raíces culturales de los pueblos de América latina y el mundo acentuando la historia, la cultura y los temas sociales actuales a través de la música, además de involucrar a su audiencia en otras actividades culturales tales como: exposiciones de arte, conciertos y foros comunitarios. Después de 23 anos en el aire Canto Sin Fronteras se ha convertido en un programa único y popular alrededor de la programación en español de Los Ángeles y del mundo por su carácter inclusivo y universal, además del gran apoyo que recibe de su audiencia.

Através de la música Canto Sin Fronteras ha unido, empoderado y dado voz a aquellos sin voz en el mundo, con su música ha expuesto a su audiencia a las diversas culturas del mundo para llegar a un mejor entendimiento y lograr la paz y la unidad universal.
